NEW SKI HILL CHALET
We, the Innisfail Ski Club directors, members and volunteers are excited to announce that we have replaced the existing 57 year old hill top lodge with a new Chalet. Our previous lodge was built by volunteers in the 1960's and had served our community well. However, the old building which was constructed of stramit (compressed straw), post and beam and stucco had come to the end of its life expectancy and was in need of replacement. In order to continue to serve our ski club and the community for many more generations to come we feel it was in our best interest to proceed with a newly constructed modernized structure. Our new chalet will provide more space for both guests and gear, an upgraded concession, larger washrooms, a more efficient building envelope and more. Construction work has been ongoing over the past several months and the new chalet currently sits with a nearly complete exterior as interior work continues.

Although the club had saved funds and received several donations from individuals, the club was recently denied Provincial grant money that is needed to help cover the remaining and ongoing construction costs to finish the new building. As a 100% volunteer run, non-profit society this is an extreme setback and a bit disheartening. The Ski Hill has always been a huge part of the community and offers affordable fun for all ages and abilities.
Every little bit counts and will be put towards items such as:
- Remaining interior & exterior finishes
- Indoor & outdoor furniture
- Kitchen appliances & utensil supplies
- Outstanding & ongoing construction costs
- Basement flooring & baseboards
- Landscaping trees & shrubs
Also, for anyone who may not be aware, the Innisfail Ski Hill is a privately owned facility of the Innisfail Ski Club and is not affiliated with the Town of Innisfail. The club is a volunteer run, non-profit society.
